PHILADELPHIA -- Kate Evick and Emily McCutcheon were both named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Softball Team as a result of voting from the Philadelphia metropolitan area's 30 sports information offices.

In order to be eligible for the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.

The senior duo helped the Profs to an NJAC Championship and a fourth-consecutive trip to the Division III World Series as Rowan finished the season at 43-11 and a final ranking of #6 by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Evick, an Exercise Science major, and McCutcheon, a Psychology major, both earned first-team All-NJAC and first-team All-Region honors as well as spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Softball Team.

Evick led the team in batting average (.372) while adding 33 RBIs, 13 doubles, 12 walks, and two home runs, all career bests. The catcher added a .944 OPS while playing 48 games this season.

McCutcheon earned her third-consecutive All-American honor after she posted a 22-7 record with a 1.31 ERA in 32 appearances. The lefthander struck out 107 batters and walked just 15 in over 187 innings pitched. She was named the NCAA Marshall Regional Most Valuable Player and the NCAA Glassboro Super Regional Most Outstanding Pitcher to guide Rowan back to the World Series.

Joining the two on the team are Emily Ammon of Neumann,  Iris Barone, Lilly Goldberg, and Avery McClure from Swarthmore, Danielle Ciliberto and Mairead Hopkins of West Chester, Jocelyn Leal and Addie Sapirstein of Haverford, Maranda Runco of Villanova, and Liv Stevens of Jefferson. Swathmore's Goldberg was named the performer of the year.
