McCutcheon Selected CSC Softball Academic All-American

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Emily McCutcheon earned national recognition with a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-America® Division III Softball Second Team.

The senior becomes the eighth player in program history to earn the honor and the second in as many seasons to represent the Profs on the teams.

A Psychology major, McCutcheon is a three-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American, a three-time NFCA First-Team All-Region selection, and a three-time New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Conference pick. In the classroom, she is a two-time CSC Academic All-District and a NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention as well as a Rowan Scholar of Distinction and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma national student-athlete honor society.

In the circle, the lefthander went 22-7 in 30 starts this season with a 1.31 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP in 187 innings, 19 complete games, and six shutouts. In her 32 total appearances, McCutcheon totaled 107 strikeouts with just 15 walks and a .216 opponent batting average. Named the NCAA Tournament Marshal Regional Most Valuable Player and the NCAA Glassboro Super Regional Most Outstanding Pitcher, McCutcheon helped guide the Profs to a program-record fourth consecutive Division III World Series as Rowan finished the season with a 43-11 record and a fifth-place finish.

In her four seasons at Rowan, McCutcheon owns a remarkable 76-13 record with 53 complete games and 23 shutouts while posting a 1.28 ERA in exactly 600 innings. She will leave the program among the top 5 in team history in wins, innings pitched, lowest ERA, and win percentage.

McCutcheon joins Payton MacNair and Liz McCaffery, who were honored last season with the prestigious academic honor in joining former Profs Nicolina Veneziano (2011, 2012), Shilah (Snead) Minerva (2015, 2016), Korie Hague (2021, 2022), and Morgan Zane (2022).
