PITMAN, NJ --
Seth Clevenger,
Anthony Parker,
David Brown, and
Denirah Jones all scored New Jersey Athletic Conference Weekly Honors for the week ending February 8th.
Clevenger was named the NJAC Men's Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks. His time of 3:59.41 in the mile at the Fasttrack Invitational made him one of four student-athletes in the history of Division III to run a sub-four minute mile. The time shoots him to #1 in DIII and breaks his previous program-best time of 4:02.76 set on January 23rd.
Parker picked up the NJAC Field Athlete of the Week accolades after breaking the school record in the long jump for the second week in a row. Parker topped out in a new top mark of 7.62 meters, which moves him up to #2 in Division III and is tied for 15th as an all-time DIII effort. This is the second consecutive week he has earned the honor and fourth overall this season.
Brown was chosen NJAC Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week for a second time after tying an indoor program mark in the high jump, clearing 2.15 meters for a new #1 result in DIII.
Jones garnered her third NJAC Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week honor after turning in a pair of #2 NJAC results in the 60 meters (7.80) and in the long jump (5.46 meters) at the Scarlet Knight Open held at the NYC Armory.
The #2-ranked men's team will see action in three meets this weekend, first at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and at the Youngstown State Last Chance Meet. The men will join the women's squad, ranked #36, at the two-day Widener Indoor Classic beginning on Friday at Widener, before shifting to Penn's Ott Center in Philadelphia on Saturday.
