PITMAN, NJ – Four Rowan student-athletes picked up weekly honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Seth Clevenger,
David Brown,
Anthony Parker, and
Denirah Jones represented the Prof Track & Field Teams after an impressive weekend of action.
Clevenger was named the NJAC Men's T&F Track Athlete of the Week after breaking two Rowan school records and recording two all-time Division III marks over the weekend in his first meet as a Prof. On Friday at Columbia's Dr. Sander Scorcher at the NYC Armory, the transfer ran the #3 all-time D3 best in the 3000 meters (7:54.87), then the next day hit the 14th all-time mark in the mile (4:02.76). The previous program bests in the 3000 meters, 8:15.29, was set in 2018 (Kevin Veltre) with the mile, 4:11.05, set in 2024 (
Scott Hubbard).
His time in the 3000 also puts him at #1 in D3, and his mile result good enough for third.
Brown garnered the NJAC Men's T&F Field Athlete of the Week honor after hitting the top mark in D3 this season in the high jump (2.11 meters) where he was second.
Parker was chosen the NJAC Men's T&F Rookie of the Week after setting the team's third school record of the weekend. His top result of 7.35 meters in the long jump bettered the old mark by Ahmir Johnson by just 0.01 meters (set in 2023). The spot is also the #3 D3 and #1 NJAC result.
Jones scored NJAC Women's T&F Rookie of the Week honors as the freshman ran the #2 NJAC time in the 60 meter prelims (7.81) at Bucknell's Gulden Invite on Saturday.
Both squads are back at it this Friday up at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island for the METS Championships.
