MAHWAH, NJ -- Rowan picked up its tenth win in a row with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-26) New Jersey Athletic Conference victory at Ramapo Thursday evening.
The Profs (12-2, 2-0 NJAC) racked up an impressive .347 hitting line (44-10-98) as the 44 kills are the most for a three-set match this season. Three players all had double-digits kills in
Jessica Smart (14),
Hutton Cordrey (13), and
Abby Chadwick (10) in the win. Smart put down seven of those kills in the final set.
Chadwick added a team-highs of 11 digs and three aces, along with
Gabriella Cooper.
Ramapo's Cass Chauhan registered a team-best 14 kills.
Rowan built large leads in the first two sets to help to go up 2-0. The Profs were able to close it out in the third, which featured 13 ties and seven lead changes. Staving off set point for the Roadrunners on two occasions, the team notched three points in a row with an ace from
Abigail Bivona to wrap things up.
The Profs head to Scranton on Saturday in a tri-match with the host Royals and Moravian.
