Amara Conte (400 meters) and the women's 4x400 relay of
Kat Pedersen,
Nevaeh Lorjuste,
Jasmine Broadway, and
Molly Lodge advanced to the finals of the respective events as well as
Nana Agyemang (long jump) earning All American status with a seventh place finish to spotlight Rowan on the first day of the 2023 Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the CrossPlex in Birmingham on Friday.
UPDATED RESULTS
Conte ran 47.21 for a new school record and the fifth fastest time in Division III history for the top time in the preliminaries. He will race in the finals tomorrow at 4:25 p.m.
Agyemang earned an All American honors for the second year in a row after topping out at 7.11 meters for a seventh-place finish.
The women's 4x400 clocked in at 3:52.23 in the preliminary for the sixth best time. The foursome will compete in the final Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Lorjuste competed in the 400 meter prelims, but her time of 58.06 left her out of the top eight needed to the finals.
Agyemang, along with
Marquise Young,
Jah'mere Beasley, and
Evan Corcoran were in 4x400 relay looking to give the Profs a second-straight NCAA Champion, but fell short in the prelims (3:20.48).
In other preliminary action, Beasley timed in a 21.76 in the 200 meters while Young hit 8.28 in the 60 meter hurdles, but both did not reach the finals.
