PITMAN, NJ -- Rowan had three student-athletes selected to the 2022 New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams as announced on Tuesday.
Nicole Mallard earned a spot in the first team while teammates
Dakota Adams picked up a nod on the second team and
Grace Marshall was chosen as an honorable mention.
Mallard, who earns her second first-team nod after a 2018-19 selection, is currently leading the team in scoring (13.1 ppg), field goal percentage (48.1%), steals (62), assists (61), and is second in rebounding (7.8 rpg) in 24 games thus far. The junior is ranked fifth in steals in the NJAC and would lead the conference in field goal percentage (48.1%) but she just missed out on the conference minimum to qualify. This season, she hit a career high with 26 points in the win at William Paterson back on December 11th.
Adams picks up her first all-conference honor as a Prof as the junior has appeared in 23 games. She moved into the starting lineup on January 15th at Ramapo, and over that 10-game span, she is averaging 14.9 points and 9.7 rebounds while adding 13 blocks, 13 assists, and 11 steals and shooting just under 50.0% from the field. Adams has amassed 10 double-doubles including seven in the 10 games she was a starter. She also was the team's top rebounder or tied for the top glass cleaner 16 times.
Marshall also earns her second honor from the NJAC after a second-team selection in 2019-20. She is the team's top three-point threat, connecting on 34 triples, while averaging 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 2.0 assists in 24 games. This season, she has hit career highs in rebounding (12 – at Kean), assists (6 – vs. Rutgers-Newark), and tied for a career best in steals with 8.
All three have helped the Profs cement themselves as the #2 playoff seed. Rowan will host #7 Stockton in a NJAC Quarterfinal game here tonight at Esbjornson Gymnasium at 5:30 p.m. Semifinal action continues on Thursday with the final on Saturday.
