Volleyball's Schedule is Set for its Return to the Court; Opens at Home on September 1

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan women's volleyball team will make its return to competition this Fall and is set to begin the new year on September 1 when the Profs host Neumann in a match at Esby Gym. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Profs have not played since the NJAC Championship match on November 9, 2019.

SCHEDULE

"We are all looking forward to getting back to competition this fall. It has been a difficult couple of years not being able to compete and practice in the ways that we know how to do. But this team is resilient and has shown dedication and patience as we have quietly prepared for the opportunity to get back on the court," said head coach Deana Jespersen, who has led the Profs for six seasons. "The team is anxious to train and work towards a common goal once again, and we are all excited to see what lies ahead! Our schedule will challenge us and will begin to shape us as a team, and hopefully we will earn the opportunity to compete for an NJAC title once again."

The team will take part in Gettysburg's Battlefield Classic on Labor Day weekend, September 3-4, before returning home to host the Rowan Quad on September 10-11, with Catholic, Morrisville State and Widener.

NJAC play begins right away as the Profs will visit William Paterson on September 14, but the team will continue its non-conference portion of the schedule by taking part in the Eastern Tri-Match on September 18.

The Profs will host their first conference match of the year on September 21 against Montclair State and then will travel to Stockton on September 23, marking a return to where they played their last match before the pandemic.

The team plays a single match at Cabrini on September 25 and then takes part in the Penn State Berks Tri-Match on October 2 before returning home to face Rutgers-Newark on October 5.

After a match at NJCU on October 12, the Profs will host Rutgers-Camden on October 14 and then return to non-conference play in a tri-match at Ursinus.

Rowan will host Ramapo on October 19 in the final NJAC home match of the year as the Profs will take part in the DeSales Quad on October 22-23, and face Kean (October 26) and Arcadia (October 29) on the road. The Profs will close out the regular season with the Rowan Tri-Match on October 30.

In 2019, the Profs went 19-15, reached the NJAC Final, and earned the program's first-ever regional ranking, coming in at 10th in the final poll of the season for the New York Region. Leading the returnees from that squad are All-NJAC honorees Natalie Ogden and Cassidy Abdalla.
