Women's Basketball Still Second In NCAA Atlantic Region

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Rowan University women's basketball team is still second in the NCAA Atlantic Region.  It is the last week of the rankings before the tournament selections on Monday, March 2.
 
The Profs are 23-3 overall and the first seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament.  Rowan hosts Montclair State University (21-5) in the title game of the conference tournament on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.  The NJAC champion receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.   
 
The records for the schools in the Atlantic Region are as of Sunday, Feb. 23.  Marymount University (21-4) is first in the region followed by DeSales University (21-4), third.  Montclair State is fourth while Mount Saint Mary College (NY) (20-5) and Cabrini University (18-7) are fifth and sixth respectively.  Rounding out the top eight are Misericordia University (20-5), seventh and The College of New Jersey (16-10), eighth.  
 
The regional rankings are used by the national selection committee to determine the bracket for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.  The selection show is on Monday at 2:30 p.m. on ncaa.com.
