"Know Your Profs" features Cassidy Abdalla of the volleyball team. A junior middle hitter who ranked third on the team in kills with 224, Abdalla received All-NJAC Honorable Mention in 2019 as she helped the Profs reach the conference title match. Abdalla also earned NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and was cited as a Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction.
 
 What was the biggest factor that led you to choose Rowan?
Playing volleyball at Rowan was one of the biggest reasons I choose to come here. When I first met the team, everyone was incredibly welcoming. My coach is one of the nicest coaches I had met when talking to different teams.
 
What is your most memorable moment in sports, whether at Rowan or before?
My most memorable moment in sports was when I went to Texas with the team last year. It was a crazy and fun experience that brought us together on another level.
 
If you could play any other sport in college, what would it be and why?
I would play tennis, because I have always thought it was an interesting sport. I used to play when I was younger but gave it up for volleyball.
 
Who was your biggest role model growing up?
My biggest role model growing up was a volleyball player I competed against. She was older and more talented than me and I always admired her. Playing against her made me strive to be better.
 
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
I would travel to Greece. I have been fortunate enough to visit a couple countries in Europe with my family, however, Greece is one of the countries I have wanted to see the most.
 
What's your choice – Netflix, YouTube, Cable TV? Favorite show?
I prefer Netflix. My favorite show right now is Peaky Blinders.
 
Who is your favorite professional athlete or team?
My favorite professional team is the Eagles. I am from Pennsylvania and support every Philly team. I love the underdogs.
 
Who is your favorite follow on social media?
My favorite follow on social media is Lizzo. I think she is incredible for always speaking her mind and not being afraid to stand up for herself or others.
 
Which do you prefer – online classes or in person?
I prefer in person classes. I like being able to see my teachers and classmates actually in person to be able to have better conversations with them.
 
What is your major at Rowan and what are your career aspirations?
I am a Supply Chain and Logistics major. I want eventually to work for a global pharmaceutical company and be in charge of their supply chain.
 
What's the best thing about being a Prof?
The best thing about being a Prof is the support and community atmosphere. As an athlete, I have had many people wish me luck for games even if I do not know the person. The school shows a lot of support for every student, athlete or not.
