Struble, Davis Push #7 Baseball Past Stockton, 9-4, for Ninth Straight Win

GLASSBORO, NJ - Nick Struble drove in two runs and Brayden Davis hit a two-run homer to push #7 Rowan past Stockton, 9-4, in an NJAC matchup. The victory runs the Profs' winning streak to nine games as they improve to 14-2 and 3-0 in the conference.

Struble went 2-for-5 with one run and two RBI while Davis was 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI, while Ian Murphy had two hits.

Starter Ben Schild went 5.2 innings and Christian Rice (3-0) earned the victory with 1.1 innings of work. Relievers Jack Norton and Jake Andrey kept the Ospreys at bay the rest of the game.

Trailing 2-0 in the second inning, the Profs pushed ahead with three runs in the fifth. Mason Dorsey got it started with a safety squeeze bunt, followed by an RBI single from Damon Suriani. Davis then drove in Evan McCoach with a sacrifice fly to give Rowan a 3-2 lead.

Stockton (4-14; 3-0) tied the game in the sixth, but the Profs pushed ahead in the bottom of the inning. McCoach reached base on a Stockton error to bring home Kyle Lamanteer and Struble giving Rowan the lead for good, 5-3.

The Profs tacked on two more in the sixth when Struble hit a two-run double and then added a pair in the seventh, thanks to Davis' two-run home run, his team-best seventh of the year, increasing Rowan's lead to 9-3.

Stockton added one more run in the ninth to provide the final margin.

The teams will meet up again tomorrow afternoon at Stockton in the second game of the series. Rowan heads to Montclair State for a doubleheader on Saturday and returns home for a non-league game against York (PA) on Monday.
