Women's Basketball Bested by #5 Johns Hopkins, 64-43

BALTIMORE, MD -- #5 Johns Hopkins claimed a 64-43 decision over Rowan on Sunday in the finale of the host's JHU WBB Classic on Sunday evening.

Haley Selmer reached double figures for the second-straight game, netting 10 points to pace the Profs (7-5). Jess McLaughlin added seven points, two blocks and a career-high eight rebounds.

Macie Feldmen led the Blue Jays with game highs of 13 points and nine rebounds. Lauren Kndson (12 points) and Layla Henderson (9 points) each had two of the team's six three-pointers.

Selmer scored eight of her points in the second, but a 14-4 run by the home team to close the second quarter put Johns Hopkins (11-0) up by 12 at the break.

Offense was at a premium in the third, as both teams shot just 4-for-30 from the field combined. The Blue Jays were able to extend its lead to 44-31 heading into the final frame.
 
Johns Hopkins capitalized on its free throws in the fourth quarter by outscoring Rowan, 8-0, from the line. The Blue Jays went 8-of-9 at the stripe in the final 10 minutes to help secure the outcome.

Rowan returns to Esby Gymnasium on Wednesday, January 7th when the Profs welcome TCNJ for an NJAC matchup beginning at 5:30 p.m.
