GALLOWAY, NJ - Rowan's C.J. Hayes shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the field but Widener overtook the game at the start of the second half to post an 89-84 win over the Profs in the second day of the Stockton Classic.

Rowan (2-10) owned the ball with 3.6 seconds to play and trailing by three, but a turnover gave Widener (3-8) the chance to ice the game with a pair of free throws.

Hayes scored 17 points and didn't miss from the field, while he hit 2-of-2 three-pointers, and his only miss of the day was from the line.
Taz Cantey scored 14 points and
Brycen Williams and
Khalil Baker added 11, with
Christian Conklin notching a career-high 10 points.

Rowan led, 50-46, in the opening minutes of the second half before Widener went on a 15-5 run, to take a 57-51 lead at 14:55. The Pride led by as much as 13, 75-62, with over eight minutes remaining.

The Profs fought back and cut it to 84-79 after a three-point play by Baker and then had the deficit at two points, 84-82, after Hayes knocked down a three with 1:48 to play. Widener increased it to 87-82 at :59, and Hayes answered again to pull Rowan within 87-84 at :48. After a missed shot by Rowan and then a turnover, Widener's Kori Segich iced the win with a pair of free throws at :02.

Rowan led the entire first half and by as much as 14 points, 35-21. Widener tied the game, 40-40, with over two minutes to play before the Profs scored six straight to take a 46-40 halftime lead.

The Profs return to conference play on Wednesday when they host TCNJ at 7:30 p.m.
