GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan's Damitrius Hester and Damarion Potts will compete next week at the U.S. Under-20 championships to earn a shot at the U.S. Team for the world championships in Peru.

The 2024 USATF U20 Championships, scheduled for June 12 & 13 in Eugene, Oregon on the campus of the University of Oregon, will serve as the selection event for the 2024 World Athletics U-20 Championships, which take place on August 27-31 in Lima, Peru.

Hester will compete in the javelin while Potts enters the high jump competition.

Both were NCAA Qualifiers as Hester claimed All-American honors in the outdoor championships with his third-place finish. Potts was an NCAA Qualifier during the indoor season in the long jump, placing 19th.

Athletes eligible for selection to the World U20 Championships team must place among the top 6 in their event.
