PHILADELPHIA --
Matthew Conway was voted to the 2024 Philly-CoSIDA Academic All-Area Men's Track & Field Team as the junior was one of 10 local student-athletes honored.
The team is selected through voting conducted by the sports information directors of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. To be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.
Conway, a Chemical Engineering major with a minor in Chemistry, boasts a 4.0 GPA. He is a Rowan Scholar of Distinction (Student-Athletes with 3.80 or above), NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention, and recently named to the CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team. Conway is a member of the Rowan Men's Cross Country and Men's Track & Teams. This season, he was the 2024 NJAC Outdoor Champion in the 10,000 meters and produced PR's in both the indoor (mile, 3000 meters) and the outdoor (1500 meters, 5000 meters, and 10,000 meters) seasons.
He is joined on the team along with Sean Dolan of Villanova, Kampton Kam, James Rhoades and Scott Toney of Penn, Reza Eshghi of Haverford, Samuel Knowles of Widener, Liam Rivard from La Salle, Cole Stanchina of Chestnut Hill, and Aiden Tobin from Ursinus. Dolan was voted the performer of the year.
