LOUISVILLE, KY -- A total of seven Profs picked up all-region honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as the teams were announced Friday afternoon.

On the first team, Emily McCutcheon, Rylee Lutz, McKenzie Melvin, and Kaitlyn Riggs all earned nods while Payton MacNair, Liz McCaffery, and Cat Thomas scored second-team honors in region IV.

Melvin and Thomas pick up the honor for the third time while Lutz, MacNair, McCaffery get it for the second occasion. McCutcheon and Riggs are named for the first time.

The 13th-ranked Profs won its 12th NJAC Title and are in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. Rowan will play MIT on Saturday, May 18th for a trip to the super regional round.

McCutcheon and Lutz are part of a pitching staff with the second-best ERA in Division III (1.19) and third in total shutouts (20). Individually, McCutcheon ranks in the top 20 in Division III in ERA (0.97) and in victories as the sophomore is 19-1 on the year. Lutz owns a 1.24 ERA with a 17-6 record and 11 shutouts, that puts her #2 in the country.

Melvin leads the team with 41 runs and 18 stolen bases as the junior centerfielder is batting .360 with nine doubles, three triples, two homers, and 17 RBI.

Riggs is enjoying a career year, setting personal bests at the plate. The senior owns a .282 batting average with 19 runs, 11 doubles, and 23 RBIs. Behind the plate, the catcher has a .987 fielding percentage while throwing out five baserunners.

MacNair has team-best statistics in OPS (1.035), slugging percentage (.608), hits (57), extra-base hits (21), doubles (13), and triples (7). The senior has struck out just eight times in 143 at-bats.

McCaffery leads the team and NJAC with 26 walks and an .516 on-base percentage. Her .406 batting average is tops on the squad to go along with 36 runs, five doubles, three triples, and 26 RBI for the junior.

Thomas has a team-leading three homers and it tied with MacNair with 43 RBI. The senior first baseman has added seven doubles and a career-best two triples.
