GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan's
Aurelia McManis has been named the NJAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week of October 30th. It marks the first conference award of her career.
The freshman played a key role in Rowan's 6-0 shutout of Ramapo, which gave the 18th-ranked Profs their third consecutive regular-season conference title. As the low defender, she helped limit the Roadrunners to just one shot on goal as Rowan held a decisive edge, 36-1, while Ramapo also had just one penalty corner.
McManis has started the last eight games for Rowan, while playing 12 in her first season with the Profs.
With the win, Rowan (9-7) concluded the NJAC regular season with a 4-1 record. The top-seeded Profs will host fourth-seeded Stockton on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in an NJAC Semifinal. The winner advances to the league's championship against either TCNJ or Kean on Saturday, with the site and time to be determined.
