Gillooly, Bowser Capture Marquee Awards as Profs Place 12 on All-NJAC Teams

PITMAN, NJ -- Kevin Gillooly was named the NJAC Men's Swimmer of the Year for the third time while head coach Brad Bowser claimed his sixth NJAC Coach of the Year as the conference announced its 2021-22 year-end awards on Wednesday.

A total of 12 Profs earned awards including nine that won multiple honors. The NJAC All-Conference honors were based on finishes at the Met Conference Championships while the special awards were determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Gillooly was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year in 2018, and selected the top swimmer in the conference in 2019 and 2020. The Profs did not compete during the 2020-21 season. Among capturing first team selections in the 50 free, 100 fly and a member of the 200 free, 400 free, 400 medley relay teams as well as second-team pick in the 100 free and 200 medley relay, Gillooly brought home a NCAA Division III National Championship, finishing first in the 50 free to add to his All American honors.

Bowser helped guide the nationally-ranked Profs to an undefeated 6-0 record, a NJAC Championship, and a second-place finish at the METS Championships. Rowan finished 10th overall at the DIII Championships this month as well.

Other first-team honors were awarded to Tobias Cahnbley (500 free), Jack Watson (100 back, 200 back), Kevin Yanagisawa (200 fly). On the second team was Alex Volin (200 free, 500 free), Joe Rucci (200 fly, 400 IM), Greg Cann (200 breast), Garrett Kerr (3 meter diving). Dylan Regan (50 free), Cahnbley (1650 free, 200 back), Rucci (200 IM) all earned honorable mention.

The Profs relay teams littered in the honors as well. First-team selections went to the 200 free relay (Andrew Fenton, Regan, Danny Dubij, Gillooly), the 400 free relay (Regan, Fenton, Gillooly, Volin), and the 400 medley relay (Watson, Cann, Gillooly, and Regan). The 800 free relay team of Volin, Yanagisawa, Cahnbley, and Matt Maretic and the 200 medley relay squad of Gillooly, Cann, Fenton, and Regan were named to the second team.

At the NCAA Championships, Rowan secured All American honors from Gillooly (50 free, 100 free), and the 200 free and 400 medley relay teams of Dubij, Gillooly, Fenton, and Regan. The 200 free squad was a first-team All-America with the 400 medley team earned a second-team All-America.
