PITMAN, NJ – Rowan's
Dakota Adams and
Josh Wright have earned weekly honors from the NJAC as Adams was named the Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Wright was recognized as the Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.
Adams notched a double-double, her second of the year, with 15 points and 10 rebounds as Rowan defeated Rutgers-Newark, 94-61, on Saturday. The junior was 7-of-14 from the floor and a perfect 2-for-2 at the foul line, while adding three assists, two steals and a block in the Profs' only action of the week.
Wright scored a career-high 23 points in a losing cause as the undermanned Profs fell short in a comeback bid against Rutgers-Newark, 66-60. The freshman shot 40 percent from the field, made three three-pointers and went 8-for-10 from the foul line while playing a career-high 37 minutes. Earlier in the week he had seven points and three steals in an 89-84 win over NJCU.
Both Rowan teams will be back in action on Wednesday in an NJAC doubleheader at Montclair State. The women's team is currently 8-5 (6-1 NJAC) while the men's team owns a 12-2 mark (5-2 NJAC).
