NJAC Softball All-Conference Team

PITMAN, NJ – Rowan shortstop Payton MacNair, pitcher Emily August and Coach Kim Wilson were each selected for one of the major New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Softball Awards and there were five players that received All-Conference honors.
 
MacNair was chosen the NJAC Player of the Year while August was named the conference's Pitcher of the Year.  Wilson was honored by her peers as the Dr. June Walker Coach of the Year.  MacNair and August were joined on the All-Conference first team by outfielder Morgan Zane and catcher Korie Hague.  Third baseman Breanna Bryant was a NJAC honorable mention selection.
 
In her rookie season, MacNair leads the team with a .416 batting average.  She is first in hits (42) and runs scored (30) and tied for first in doubles (11).  MacNair has totaled 21 RBI, four triples and two home runs.  She ranks first in the conference in hits, runs scored, triples and at bats (101) and is tied for first in doubles. MacNair is also fourth in slugging percentage (.663) and sixth in batting average.  She was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week twice.
 
August has compiled a 12-2 record with a 0.76 ERA and three saves.  In 92 innings, she has recorded 83 strikeouts and an opposing batting average of .154.  The right hander is ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III in saves and 10^th in ERA.  In the NJAC, she is first in ERA, wins and saves.  August is also second in innings and opposing batting average and third in strikeouts.
 
This is Wilson's 25^th season as head softball coach at the University and her eighth selection as the conference's Coach of the Year.  She has an overall coaching record of 863-328-2 and her Rowan mark stands at 799-271-2.  Wilson has guided the Profs to seven NJAC titles and 17 appearances in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
 
Zane is hitting .413 and leads the team with 30 RBIs.  She is second with 26 runs scored and tied for first with 11 doubles.  In the conference, Zane is ranked first in RBI, tied for first in doubles, second in runs scored, hits and at bats (92).  She is also third in home runs (3) and fifth in slugging percentage (.630) and walks (11).  In 2019, Zane was named the NJAC Rookie of the Year and to the All-Conference first team.
 
Hague has a .368 batting average with 24 RBI and 13 runs scored.  She ranks second in the conference in RBI and third in hits (32)and at bats (87).  Bryant is hitting .329 in her first season at Rowan.  She has scored 20 runs, totaled 13 RBI and collected six doubles.  Bryant is sixth in the conference in runs scored and 10^th in hits.   
 
Rowan is 25-5 overall and is the top seed in the NJAC Championship Tournament.  The Profs are ranked fifth in the NCAA East Region and 21st in the NFCA Top 25 Poll.
