SEWELL, NJ – Rowan's Kevin Gillooly and Dylan Regan have qualified for the USA Swimming Olympic Trials in the 50 meter freestyle. 
 
At the 2021 Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club (GPAC) Spring Derby, Gillooly swam a time of 22.60 in the 50 meter freestyle and Regan's time was 22.98.  The qualifying time for the Olympic Trials stands at 23.19 for the wave I cut and 22.71 for the wave II cut.
 
The GPAC Spring Derby is being held at Gloucester County Institute of Technology from May 21 through May 23.   
 
Next month, the USA Swimming Olympic Trials will be held at the main competition pool at the Chi Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  USA Swimming has split the meet into two waves because of Covid restrictions.  The first wave is scheduled for June 4-7 and the second wave from June 13-20, which features faster standards and will serve as the main selection meet.
 
In 2019-20, Gillooly qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 50 yard freestyle and 200 yard backstroke and on the 200 and 400 yard medley relays and 200 yard freestyle relay.  The national championships were canceled because of Covid.  He received All-America honors from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.
 
Gillooly was chosen the 2020 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimmer of the Year.  He earned All-Conference first team in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 and 200 yard backstrokes, 200 yard freestyle relay and the 200 and 400 yard medley relays.
 
Regan was a member of the All-America Team on the 200 and 400 yard medley relays and the 200 yard freestyle relay.  He was named to the NJAC All-Conference first team in the 100 yard freestyle and second team in the 50 yard freestyle.  Regan was selected to the All-Conference first team 200 and 400 yard medley relays and 200 yard freestyle relay.  He received NJAC second team honors as part of the 400 yard freestyle relay.
