GLASSBORO, NJ - Rowan's field hockey team has climbed six spots to a national ranking of sixth in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll, making the biggest move of any team in the poll. The Profs defeated two Top 25 teams last week and have now won six games in a row to earn their highest ranking of the season.
COACHES POLL
Last week, the #12 Profs shut out both opponents, defeating #11 TCNJ, 1-0, in overtime, and handing #3 Kean their first loss of the year, 1-0. The Profs are currently 8-2 overall, and 3-0 in the NJAC, and in the midst of a six-game winning streak, that includes three consecutive shutouts.
Kristiina Castagnola leads Rowan with 11 goals on the year, with
Krystyna Hovell and
Julia Patrone each tallying a team-high 23 points, with 10 goals and three assists.
The Profs take a quick break from NJAC play on Wednesday when they host Arcadia and will then travel to Ramapo on Saturday for a conference matchup.
