PITMAN, NJ – Five Rowan University winter student-athletes received New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Weekly Honors.
Nicole Mallard was named the NJAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time. This is the eighth selection for
Chad Shire and
Corinne Finkbinder as the NJAC Divers of the Week.
Angel Rowe was chosen the NJAC Field Athlete of the Week and
Sha'Lynn Clarke earned her second Rookie of the Week honor.
Mallard guided the women's basketball team to the conference title with 18.0 points per game. In the semifinal 82-62 win over The College of New Jersey, she contributed with 14 points and four rebounds. The guard scored 22 points in the final game to defeat Montclair State University, 64-54.
Shire won the one-meter diving at the NCAA Northeast/South Regional. He totaled 487.95 points. On the three-meter board, he finished seventh with 453.20 points. At the Regional, Finkbinder came in 15
th (380.70) in the one-meter and 18
th (381.30) in the three-meter.
Rowe took second in the triple jump at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet. She had a distance of 38' 2.75" (11.65 m), which is 16
th in Division III and second in the NJAC. Clark had an eighth place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.20. Her time is third in the conference.
