PITMAN, NJ – Four Rowan University student-athletes received New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Weekly honors.
Jerry Price was named the NJAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week while
Eliana Santana was the Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second time.
Kevin King earned NJAC Men's Track & Field Rookie of the Week and Aaniyah Robinson was selected the Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
In a 2-0 week, Price led the men's basketball team with 22.5 points per game. He contributed with nine rebounds, seven assists and five steals. The guard scored 20 points and had five boards and five assists in a 97-76 win at Stockton University. He made four three-pointers in four attempts. Price was the scoring leader with 25 points in the 94-86 victory over visiting Montclair State University. The senior added four rebounds and four steals.
Santana averaged 16.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in the women's basketball team's wins against Stockton (73-57) and Montclair State (67-65). The forward totaled 16 points and 11 rebounds at Stockton. Against the Red Hawks, she recorded the assist on guard
Nicole Mallard's winning basket. Santana gave the Profs the lead (63-62) with two foul shots (0:54) and had two more (0:13), which made the score 65-62. She finished the game with 17 points and nine rebounds.
At the Albany Winter Classic, King finished 12
th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.38, which is a career best. His time is third in the conference and 32
nd in Division III. Robinson ran a time of 7.96 in the 60 meter dash final and took eighth place. She came in eighth in the prelims in 7.87. Her prelim time is a season best and first in the NJAC and 23
rd in the NCAA.
