STATEN ISLAND, NY– The Rowan University men's track & field team started the indoor season at the Fastrack Metro Season Opener on Friday, Dec. 6. The meet was held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
The Profs took first place in three individual events.
Nick Neville ran a winning time of 1:54.41 in the 800 meter run while
Joe DeVito came in third (1:58.30).
Earnest Daniel had height of 6' 6.75" (2.00 meters) for first place in the high jump and
Adonis McGee was second (6' 6.75", 2.00 m).
Rakim Coyle won the long jump with a leap of 22' 8.5" (6.92 m).
The 4x400 meter relay of
Justin Bishop,
Vincent Delle, DeVito and
Charlie Serrano-Juarez too second in 3:19.94. The fourth place 4x800 meter relay (8:21.25) included
Esteban Delgado,
Luke Barnes,
Peter Argerakis and Neville.
Ahmir Johnson had a distance of 45' 7.25" (13.90 m) for second in the triple jump and
Frankie Richard was third (43' 5", 13.23"). Bishop finished third (49.55) in the 400 meter dash. In the long jump, Richard came in third (22' 1.5", 6.74 m) followed by
John Owens, fourth (21' 11.75", 6.70 m) and Clinton Benjamin, fifth (21' 11.75", 6.75 m).
Ryan Jillard tied for third in the pole vault with a height of 13' 7.25" (4.15 m).
Rob Gardner finished sixth (13' 1.5", 4.00 m),
Nick Rossi took seventh (13' 1.5", 4.00 m) and
Bryant Then was ninth (12' 1.5", 3.70 m).
Kevin King had a fourth place (8.51) in the 60 meter hurdles and
Malcolm Yarber was seventh (8.77). In the 800 meter run, Serrano-Juarez finished seventh (1:59.85) followed by Delgado, eighth (1:59.96).
Zaire Weaver took eighth (20' 9", 6.32 m) in the long jump.
Barnes had a ninth place (2:37.93) in the 1000 meter run.
Nick Kokolis finished ninth (42' 7", 12.98 m) in the weight throw and 10
th (41' 1.5", 12.53 m) in the shot put. Argerakis took 13
th (4:44.17) in the one mile run and Delle was 13
th (51.10) in the 400 meter dash.
Rowan travels to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday, Dec. 13 for the Wagner College Shootout at 2 p.m.
