PITMAN, NJ – Three Rowan University student-athletes received New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Weekly Honors.
Nick Neville was named the NJAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the second straight week and
Earnest Daniel was the conference's Field Athlete of the Week.
Ayanna Johnson was named the NJAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
At the Wagner Shoot Out, Neville came in third in the 600 meter run with a school record time of 1:20.90. The previous mark was 1:23.19 by Jamil Jackson in 2014. Neville anchored the second place 4x400 meter relay that finished in 3:20.72. Daniel won the high jump at the Wagner Shoot Out. He had a height of 6' 6.75" (2.00 m), which tied his season best.
In a 2-0 week, Johnson led the Profs on the boards with 20.5 rebounds per game. She also averaged 11.5 points per game and compiled 12 blocks. The center guided Rowan to a 78-51 conference win at Ramapo College. Johnson was the top scorer with 17 points and had a career-high 25 rebounds. She also broke the University record with nine blocks. The old mark was eight blocks held by Samantha Eskuchen, twice in 2005.
Johnson collected 16 boards in Rowan's 94-65 victory over Stockton University. This season, Johnson is averaging 13.4 rebounds per game, which is first on the team. She has totaled 27 blocks, 15 steals and 14 assists. The sophomore is chipping in with 6.3 points per game.
