GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University student-athletes took first place in the New Jersey Athletic Conference’s (NJAC) Cans Across the Conference service project. The program is a friendly competition between the conference’s 10 member schools. Rowan has won all three years that the event has been held.
Donations are given to local food banks and various charities of the 10 league member campuses. This year, Rowan collected 2,758 cans, 546 more than the next closest school. As a whole, the conference totaled 9,192 cans, over 2,500 more than last year.
Rowan’s student-athletes were recognized during its basketball doubleheader against Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday, February 15. The University received a plaque presented by NJAC Commissioner Terry Small.
