SALISBURY, MD – The Rowan University women’s cross country team finished second and the men’s team took third place at the Sea Gull Opener on Saturday. The meet was held at Winter Place Park.
For the women, Jenn Rawls (so. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) came in second place overall with a time of 21:44. Gabby Prendergast (fr. Blackwood, NJ/Highland Reg.) captured ninth (23:11) and Meghan Borz (fr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) was 13th (23:28). Joy Hanke (so. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) and Liz Guarini (sr. Steinertville, NJ/Steinert) took 18th (23:45) and 25th (24:04) respectively.
Eric DuBois (jr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) was the first men’s runner to cross the finish line. He was fourth overall in 26:10. Jeff Terebey (sr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) captured ninth place with a time of 26:30. Jake McCormack (jr. Cliffwood, NJ/Matawan Reg.) was 22nd (27:26) and Mike Carotenuto (so. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) finished 25th (27:34). Stephen Mennitt (so. Edison, NJ/Edison) rounded out the scoring in 29th place (27:38).
Rowan is at the Fordham Fiasco on Saturday, September 11 at 10:30 a.m. The meet is being held at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY.
