Two Profs Earn ECAC Women's Lacrosse All-Star Honors

CAPE COD, MA – Rowan University women’s lacrosse player Nicole Valianti was selected the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro/South Region Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Star first team. Midfielder Alli Dickey was a Metro/South Region All-Star second team selection.

A midfielder, Valianti (jr. Oaklyn, NJ/Collingswood) contributed with 32 points, 20 goals and 12 assists. She compiled 30 ground balls and 24 draw controls. Valianti was named the 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Year and to the NJAC All-Conference first team.

Dickey (jr. Stevensville, MD/Kent Island) was tied first as the Profs’ leading scorer with 42 points. She scored 30 goals and had 12 assists. She was first on the team in ground balls (41) and second in draw controls (46). Dickey also collected 17 caused turnovers. She was chosen to the NJAC All-Conference first team.

Rowan had an 11-6 final record and won the conference title with a 5-0 mark. The Profs made their eighth appearance and third straight in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
