Babice Named to CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Team

GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University forward Jess Babice was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Women’s Soccer Academic All-District II first team.

The members of CoSIDA by districts selected the Academic All-District teams. The first team selections move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.

To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA) and be a starter or significant reserve. The District II College Division consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Babice (jr. Groveville, NJ/Steinert) is majoring in health and exercise science with a 3.91 GPA. She leads the Profs in points (43) and goals (19). Babice has scored seven game-winning goals and has five assists. She was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference first team. In the conference statistics, Babice is second in points (2.87) and goals (1.27) per game. She is first in game-winning goals with seven. In the NCAA Division III statistics, she is 16th in goals per game and 18th in points per game.

In 31 career games, Babice had totaled 77 points with 23 goals and 11 assists. She has 12 game-winning goals. In 2008, Babice was selected the NJAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and to the All-Conference first team.
